1926 Lombard Full Tract
[Previous Pic]  [Main List]  [Next Pic]

Built by Lombard in Waterville, Maine. These machines where intended to act as skidders do today; hauling timber short distances from the cuttings to a location where it could be transfered to the long sled trains hauled by the larger half-track style Lombards which were better suited for long distance travel. This particular machine was owned by Great Northern Paper Company.

It was eventually dismantled and used as the bases for thier own home built tractor - the 'New Twin' in an effort to develope an all purpose machine.

In the end, Holts became the perferred machines though improvements in trucks and the ability to rapidly build all season roads meant that those too would be replaced.
