1973 Leyland 270
[Previous Pic]  [Main List]  [Next Pic]

The tractor I grew up on now back on the farm. The Leyland is an English import powered by the 4/98 series motors used by Nuffield and BMC tractors. A bunch were sold in the Southeast to tobacco farmers in the early-mid 70s as they are a powerful midweight tractor and very durable. Has a 5 speed hi-lo trans, power steering, independent 540 PTO and hydraulics, one remote (2-hose) hydraulic, and diff lock. This one has the spinout rims and weighted wheel centers. Could be had with a cab but, due to cost, most in Southeast are open platform. This one needs some TLC due to constant use for 30 years but is still very servicable.
