1921 Frick Traction Engine
[Previous Pic]  [Main List]  [Next Pic]

Taken in 1958. This 8 1/2 x 10 Frick engine was bought by my grandfather, Herman Layton, in the early 1920s. He sold it to CC Williamson (in overalls) who used it to run a sawmill. Mr. Williamson was the sawyer and his wife did the offbearing and fired the engine. That was the normal crew. Who had the best end of that deal! Soon after this picture was taken, my father bought the engine back and restored it. (See picture #2) Today, it is still in the family.
