1955 Ford 960 - Power Steering Linkage
[Previous Pic]  [Main List]  [Next Pic]

Based on what I am reading in I&T this is maybe not the correct power steering cylinder. The stamped numbers do not appear to be Ford numbers. It shows what appears to be 'V C 285 00', the stamper may have tried to make the V an N tho, the stamp is bad and there is a 9 stamped below and cockeyed to the V. I guess if I stretch it I could make it to be 9N28500 but I doubt that works anyways. Following these numbers there is '1 800 183 86' the V could possibly the layout of the cylinder is not matching the images including the ports for the hoses in the control valve. The linkage from the end of the cylinder to the front drag link end seems homemade. If anybody has info on the cylinder or where I can get rebuild parts, please let me know! wdhindman@msn.com Thanks!
