Yesterday's Tractor Company - Help Identify These Antique Tractors

John Deere...?
[Previous Pic]  [Main List]  [Next Pic]

I bought this tractor and was told it was a JD 500. There is no serial number or tractor number at the rear of the transmission. There is a tag on the frame that says JD500 serial number 104195. It is an industrial model, It has a 4-cyl engine, injector pump is horizonal inline, it has a generator, and is 12v system. Fuel tank is at the rear of the hood next to the steering, radiator is up front. The generator is on the left side sitting on the tractor and injector pump is on the right. The exhaust manifold is on the right and exits on the left.It has live pto and two output shafts,540 and 1000, no power steering, and the key only activates the ignition, there is a knob on the dash to activate the starter and a pull lever to kill the engine. There is a bell housing at the rear of the motor and a short drive shaft connecting to the transmission. It is a diesel engine. On the right side of the motor under the shut off valve for the fuel, the fuel line goes to a device that is mounted on the block but it doesn't look like a pump but the line comes off it to the injector pump. There is a fuel gauge, temp gauge, and the tach, oil press. is an idiot light. All the letters on the gauges are in German. The fellow I bought it from said it was the same as a 3010,and the service book I just got for a JD500 ain't nothing like what I have. So now I'm in a tail spin as to what I have and what its specs are. If anyone here knows what this is please let me know. I would like to get a manual for it, cause the manual I have now is worthless for this tractor. It runs fine but I would still like to know. THANKS Alan
