Yesterday's Tractor Company - Help Identify These Antique Tractors

1950 8N
  [Main List]

I PURCHASED THIS TRACTOR THIS SUMMER AND WILL BEGIN COMPLETE RESTORATION SOON. THIS IS JUST SOMETHING I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO AND MY QUESTION HAS TO DO WITH THE HI-LO TRANS. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A SHERMAN BUT IN LOOKING AT 'SMITH'S' WEBSITE MINE DOESN'T LOOK OR OPERETE LIKE THE ONE PICTURED. THIS ONE ONLY SHIFTS FORWARD OR BACK FOR HI OR LOW, IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION IT DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO MOVE IT TO THE LEFT AND PULL BACK. IN SEARCHING THROUGH OTHER PHOTO'S AND DISCUSSION FORUMS I'VE FOUND TWO PHOTO'S SHOWING THE SAME SHIFT LEVER BUT NO EXPLANATION OF WHAT TRANS IS IN THE TRACTOR. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. HELP!!!
