Yesterday's Tractor Company - Antique Tractors - Stuck and Troubled

B & S 10HP I/C Amazingly Not Stuck But Definitely In Trouble...

This is the first engine I ever hauled home from the scrapyard. I was 9 at the time and spotted it lying in the corner and suggested to Dad that we could either fix it or sell the parts from it (I had a very practical childhood). We swapped it for a small trailer load of junk we'd taken to dispose of and took it away. Life then got in the way and it got parked under the workbench in the barn and forgotten about for nearly 16 years, until yesterday when I found it while looking for something else. Other than the painfully obvious in the photo, it's in really good condition but is missing the fuel tank, starter motor and carb (which are available from a small engine breakers). Judging by the lack of carbon on the piston I think it may have only run for an hour or two before lunching the conrod. I plan to fix 'er up and put 'er back to work...
