1949 Farmall Cub Axle Leaking Badly

This picture is the left wheel and axle. I put 90wt gear oil in the transmission, and then it starts leaking the fluid out of the hole you see on the under side of the axle. It leaks on both sides, but the left is the worst. How can i get it to stop? Is there supposed to be a plug in that hole?
