What a disaster! Tried to help the guy with the new Landrover Discovery when he got stuck in soft sand launching his boat. Attached a tow rope, took the slack when my rear wheel hit quicksand and sank. The tide came in real fast and all I could do was watch as my old tractor disappeared under the sea. Came back 6 hours later after the tide had gone out and it took a big Nuffield and a Fergusen pulling together to break me out. Drained the sump of sea water and oil, removed the injector nozzles and blew sea water out of the cylinders, drained the sea water and fuel from the tank and cleaned the diesel filters. Going to flush out the engine with red diesel then put some fresh oil in and a new filter. Removed the starter motor and found that it was dry inside (and still working!) I hope it will run again
