Athey Forged-Trak Wagon (1930s)
[Previous Pic]  [Main List]  [Next Pic]

This Athey wagon was purchased in 1935 by Gold Placers, Inc. for use in their gold dredging operation on Coal Creek, in the upper portion of the Yukon River in Alaska. It was used to haul everything from hydraulic pipe to fuel to people. The wagon sat idle since the 1970s until it was recently extracted from the trees and vegetation and moved to a display area at Coal Creek Camp in Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve in Alaska. I am seeking information about the wagon and the manufacturer, the Athey Truss Wheel Co. of Chicago, Illinois.
