Buckeye Traction Ditcher- Saved From The Scrap Man
[Previous Pic]  [Main List]  [Next Pic]

Once a fairly common sight in the midwest, a Buckeye No.1 field tile installer. Weighing in at 13 tons, I think most of them ended up as WWII ordinance if they werent still earning a living during the war. Come to think of it, with all the open gearing, spinning exposed shafts and limb grabbing chains flying in every direction, anyone who operated one of these probably should have qualified for combat pay! I think just watching it clank, rattle and rumble today must violate some OSHA rules
