Yesterday's Tractor Company - Help Identify These Antique Tractors

1898 Sattley Plow Cloth Carrier
[Previous Pic]  [Main List]  [Next Pic]

I came across this 9 inch x 4.25 inch Sattley Manufacturing Co. item last week and was tryinh to find out what exactly it was used for and what value, if any, it has.

It is stitched cloth and opens to reveal a full- year calendar for 1898 on the bottom half pocket and a drawing of a riding plow on the other. On the back is another riding plow illustration with Marketin terms of 'The Hummer Gang' 'Will Plow Anything Anywhere.' and 'The Only Gang Plow Made Without a Ratchet on the Throw-out Lever.'

The piece is dirty and has seen many good days of work. At first I thought is was a wallet, or manual holder. On the back there are two stamps placed on reading 'Standard Lumber Co. LeRoy, Minn'

Any help tellin me what exactly this is? Thanks much and Good Luck!
