Yesterday's Tractor Company - Antique Tractor Pictures

1957 Case 310

We bought this tractor at a estate sale, and it had been setting in a machine shed for 7 or 8 years. The tires were bad & 1 rear was flat, rims rusty from calcium chloride, fuel tank & carb. varnished/gummed up, and foot clutch plate was froze to flywheel. Got tractor running, installed new rear rims & all 4 new tires, chained tractor to a tree and used hand clutch to jerk on tree while keeping foot clutch depressed and the foot clutch plate eventually freed up from flywheel. This practice to free up clutch could be dangerous, and requirea that a person be very careful in doing this. We used the tractor for one season to mow & push snow and then split the tractor, installed new clutch assembly, new inner seals on tranny shaft, replaced seals on brake shafts, ordered motor side panels, and then painted tractor. Cosmetics are not perfect, but very acceptable for our needs. Great and versatile little tractor, with the foot & hand clutch options, plus the triple range transmission allowing the broad ranges in ground speeds for various applications. We really enjoy this little tractor. C.D.Z.
