Is there somewhere on the tractor where I might find the serial number or any other distinguishing marking. At some point in time a prior owner converted the electrical system from 6 voltd to 12 volts. Now the electrical system is driving me crazy. I have replaced the coil twice, the on/off switch and the starter switch. Now I'm trying to replace the alternator, but I haven't been able to figure out what manufacturer or car type the current alternator is. If anyone has any suggestions I would be happy to hear from you. Terry p.s. I would consider a trade for a Ford 8N in comparable condition.

I thought it would be a fun project to bring the old gal back to life. Only took a few hours to get it running but had to break the tractor in half to unfreeze the clutch. After fixing the clutch, I started cleaning and repainting. I also had to have the hydraulics overhauled due to pitting and leaking around the shaft. I finished the project in time to run it in the local 4th of July parade. Pulled a wagon full of cub scouts. Henry, you seem to be the Leader King. It pulls my dads camper around in all gears, so for the size of the engine it does ok. I am almost 14. I got it because my mom previously passed away from Stomache Cancer, and i wanted a project to work on to take my mind off things. It does the trick. • Bobby Reagan, if you will email me a phone number or email me with a price list for a motor and a hood I will be glad to get back in touch with you. I found this tractor in a feild when I went to look at a John Deere the man had. I had never seen one like it so I bought it. I bleed green and know nothing about red tractors. Thank you for the info and any help is appreciated. Thanks again.

  • I was wondering if anyone knew how much I could buy an original motor for one of these tractors and a hood. We have one that someone put a 4 cylinder motor in it. I would trade this motor for a 3 cylinder Leader motor if anyone was interested. Any info is appreciated. Also how much are these tractors worth?
