He is also getting up in age and just had a stroke this last fall. I am helping him find buyers for thes tractors. Me not knowing anything about tractors, is there any websites or auction sites that I can use to find out about buysrs for these gems.

I now have it half pulled apart and look forward to restoring it. One thing I did find out. These Tractors are not worth much, even when restored. Nonetheless, I look forwaed to my new toy.

With a new battery it starts on the second turn over when cold and on the first turn when warm. Used it to rake 50 acres of hay last year, bringing back lots of memories.

When I got it home my son and I took the bolts out of the belt pully housing slid it back a 1/2 inch and the starter came right off. I put a new spring in the starter installed it and drove the tracter off the trailer.

  • Will someone please e-mail me specs or pics of any W4 McCormick tractors. I have a 1951 and any information related to that year would be great. Also,I'll be glad to provide you with any information that I might have too. Thanks, richard

  • I have a W4 This is a nice belt tractor. But my best find was a Schram This is a construction machine and is mounted on a W-4 or W-6 chassis. Half of the engine is the air compressor that runs the hole driller. The manufacture plate is missing.I would apprectiate any comments on this type of machine.

  • I recently bought my first tractor. A beautiful W4 1952. I've rewired it. put some TLC into it and bushhoged about 25 acres with it. I'm having some trouble getting the generator to keep the battery charged, but it's a peach
