This picture shows a 1947 version. This tractor was originally introduced by Cletrac in 1939. In 1944 Oliver bought the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) and continued the production of this line under the name Oliver Cletrac.

Just bought what I am guessing is a 1951 HG42 SN # 57GA080. I will be in need of nearly all the sheet metal for the engine cover and radiator grille and cowling. Mine has a hydraulic blade installed on front and a very heavy winch (1/2" cable) on the back. Looking forward to restoring it and showing it, and Yeah, perhaps using it a bit.

I learned how to drive tractor on a 1951 OC-3-68 , when I was 11 years old , gathering sap for my grandfather's maple syrup production . The tractor was ideal for manuevering in deep snow , and then mud as the sugaring season progressed .I recently purchased a 1954 OC-3-42 , with Wain-Roy hydraulic blade , in very good original condition . My ten year old son is now learning to drive on this , doing what ever odd jobs he can find around our place .

I did find an old HC42 for sale that has not moved in 20 years for $500.00 . is that too much to pay for a parts tractor? The HG is undergoing an extensive rebuild like gearbox, final drive, new track bushes and pins refitted front idler hubs and so on. Nearly complete and looks quite exciting. OC3 is original but basically quite sound. Also have a 77B hay mower adapted to the "Ollys" and it works really well too. Ther is quite a strong and growing group of Oliver crawlers, mostly HGs and OC3s in the local vintage tractor and machinery club of 260 members. We mostly use them for plowing but occasionally shift a bit of dirt too. In fact we got "Men of Steel" days going for the crawlers and steel wheeled tractors and they are really popular. These Ollys are amazing in the bush and on the hills. Would be keen to hear from some of you chaps in the US of A so start writing please.

I have a 49 HG42 with a Ware loader/dozer blade under,not completly original. I removed basket seat and built a dozer seat with arm rest tool boxes.Also up graded dolly wheels,almost done.Changed over to 12volt because i use machine often. Have three sources of parts Zimmerman, Don Ellis,(Wendell,Ma.),and Ray Sansoucy (Worcester,Ma.).Ray has several hoods and grills.
