They were supposed to stop pushing hay into the ground during haymaking time. I believed it worked. That was in mid 1940s. Not seen them since.

They line up the cultivator mounting plates so you can bolt the cultivators on the side of the cast iron frame. If you can measure the width at the base and give me the bolt thread size I can verify that is what they are
