Caterpillar Diesel 40 Cable Dozer - this this cat belonged to two brothers next to us they were responsible for clearing many acres of thick woods in the local area and opening it up for farming starting in 1945 with the purchase of this Diesel 40 and later trading up for a D7 in 1955 which was unique because it  had the very first serial number d7. they also operated a Cat D4 series 7J with a sheeps foot packer for highway building, all this besides full time farming with cattle , hay, grain, corn and produce and auto/tractor repair shop. These are the men of a die-ing generation may they never be forgotton
